After several years of preparation, Boston-based folk artist Naomi Leites announces her debut album, "Songs For Lena," scheduled for release in 2025.
Notable collaborations on the upcoming album include Danish producer and engineer Liva Hampen, Berklee College Professors and engineers Marty Walsh and Mark Wessel, and Swedish pianist Ebba Dankel, featured on several songs.
The album, consisting of ten original songs, is a contemplative and emotional exploration of change, growth, and the lifelong task of finding oneself. Featuring songs written from 2019-2024, “Songs For Lena” puts the audience face to face with itself, offering a mirror into the way we all slink between soul-searching and self realization; these ten songs take the audience through a journey, starting and ending with variations of the same song, “Repentance.” “Songs For Lena” is a start-to-finish odyssey, embracing the uncertainty and volatility of life, and an offering that just maybe, things work out the way they are meant to.
The album is set to be the first of several projects in the works for Naomi Leites, who is set to graduate from Berklee College of Music this spring with a Bachelor’s of Music in Professional Music and Songwriting. Her debut single, “Break My Fall,” was released in Summer ‘24, and she was mentioned in an article by American Songwriter for her song “Gone” in 2021.
